Let us introduce you to YuMei

In a tale as old as time, founder of Yu Mei, Jessie Wong, simply couldn’t find a bag that was design focused, practical and had those little tweaks on a bag that we love – yes we need an adjustable strap for a cross body and yes we need a closure on a bucket bag.

With a release of seasonal hues that evolve as the broader fashion landscape does (yet resist trends), Yu Mei is a vault of heirloom-like pieces designed to last, this is the bag you'll pass to your daughter one day.

YuMei has already achieved Toitu Net Carbon Zero accreditation and is working towards B Corp status, “the goal is to have a net positive impact across the board”, jessie said recently in an interview with Business New Zealand. With each design beginning with a genuine need from customer feedback, YuMei is intentional in all they do.

Each bag is passed through 35 sets of hands before making it into yours.

At Lesser, three Yu Mei bags are highlighted.

Antonia is different but never out of place; like a subtle accent you can't pick. A deceptively proportioned half circle bag, fit for the tube or the town. Can be worn cross body or shortened to Baguette.

Teresa believes the devil is in the detail, or rather, the data. Enter her namesake Tote: designed for fuss-free commuting and analytics on the go. The Teresa Tote is a deep bucket style with interior hanging pocket, shoulder strap and custom Yu Mei toggle closure.

The Frank cardholder is named after Jessies Dad. YuMei describes this piece as the swiss army knife of wallets – compact and with all the features, with none of the fuss – just like Frank himself.

We adore everything Yu Mei does in business and creates.
